Gone are the days when people just booked a few rounds at an overseas golf course while on holiday.

Since Covid, there has been a surge in international travel, and one sector that is proving very popular are SE Asian amateur golf tournaments. Golfasian, the leading golf tour operator in SE Asia, has really found a niche here, as over 2,000 golf vacationers from over 33 countries entered their golf tournaments hosted in Thailand and Vietnam during 2023.

Golfers of all ages are encouraged to enter these multi-day events, which are run professionally with major sponsors and even caddies wearing bibs with their players’ names.

Their 2024 season tees off with the popular Amari Hua Hin Skins in March followed by events in Pattaya, Phuket, and even Danang in Vietnam.

Here is the complete list:

  • June 9-15: Centara World Masters – Black Mountain, Springfield, and Banyan
  • June 16-22: Avani Pattaya 2 Ball – Siam Country Club Plantation and Old Course, Chee Chan, and Laem Chabang International Country Club.

Both male & female golfers are invited to register and join, and it doesn’t matter what handicap you are. Even if you’re a seasoned golf tournament attendee or have never played in a golf tournament before, you are welcome. So long as you have a golf handicap, you’ll be able to compete & enjoy the festivities.

There are even numerous activities for non-golfers including cooking classes, visiting local attractions, and masses of pampering at relaxing spas.

As they say golf may be the Hero, however the nightly 19th hole parties and popular gala dinners are also a fantastic way to meet new friends, literally from all over the world.
