Courses not to miss…CAMBODIA

Phokeethra-Country-Club

With just ten courses across the country, we have selected a few to add to your list.

Angkor Golf Resort
Designed by Sir Nick Faldo in 2007 and winner of several international awards, Angkor Golf Resort in Siem Reap is a fair test of golf for players of all standards. Faldo’s design incorporates strategically placed bunkers and water hazards around the 18 holes, with greens featuring subtle undulations. It’s a great option to combine golf with a visit to the nearby Angkor Wat.

Garden City Golf Club
Opened in April 2013, Garden City Golf Club quickly became one of Phnom Penh’s top golf courses. The par-72, 7,361-yard course is located 15 kilometers northeast of downtown Phnom Penh. The course, with its many moguls, mounds, and man-made hazards, was transformed from featureless rice paddy fields and benefits from excellent course conditioning and operations management consulting by IMG.

Phokeethra Country Club
This Sofitel-managed club was named Best Asia Pacific Golf Resort of the Year in 2020. It hosted the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic and 2010 Cambodian Open. Major renovations in 2018 maintain the high standards of the course, which features a restored ‘Roluh’ bridge from the 11th century Khmer empire. The club’s catchphrase, “Tee off in the 11th century, and finish your round in the 21st century,” captures the essence of the experience.
